BlueDot rapid risk assessment: Measles in Indonesia and the Philippines

In recent months BlueDot has identified an increase of measles activity across the globe. Growing activity is of particular concern to more vulnerable populations such as the unvaccinated, those without reliable access to healthcare, and children under the age of 5. Due to the highly contagious nature of measles it is critical to investigate changes in disease trends early and act fast to mi tigate disruption.

Watch below to see BlueDot epidemiologist Josephine De Leon perform a rapid risk assessm ent of measles activity in Indonesia and the Philippines using the WHO Strategic Toolkit for Assessing Risk (STAR) framework to inform response plans such as vaccination programs, countermeasure stockpiling, and more.
